Home to the world-famous twin peaks or Piton Mountains, Saint Lucia may be a small island but its incredible landscape makes it one of the most “Bucket List” Caribbean islands to visit!

With the only drive-in volcano in the world, a visit to Mount Soufriere Sulphur Springs Park has become the top tourist attraction in Saint Lucia. This is an active volcano and you can get close-up and personal views of gas emitting from the centre of the Earth.

Gros Piton and Petit Piton, two incredible volcanic mountains, are what come into view first as the airplane approaches the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. This is one of the most beautiful scenes in the Caribbean and the views of the island are captivating. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is one of the top tourist attractions in Saint. Lucia and it’s easy to see why.

If you’re adventurous, the climb up Grand Pitons will certainly get your heart pounding. Guides are mandatory for this climb and will make sure you don’t miss a thing. The 4.7 km climb is a challenge, as it is steep and you need to step over boulders, but the views from the summit of 2,618 ft. will all be worth it. From the top, on a clear day, you can see the neighbouring island of Saint Vincent.

Together the Pitons make a majestic natural monument and they are located in two different communities. Soufriere is the home to Grand Piton, and just a little ways away Petit Piton resides in Choiseul. Located on the southwestern coast of Saint Lucia. These are dormant volcanoes and a must-visit once you land.
