It’s time to … look back

Last year had many adventures!

This kind of article usually shows up at the end of the year — all tidy, reflective, and organized. But let’s be honest … December for me is less reflecting and more frantically helping people escape winter.

(NOTE: Please don’t tell the hubby Mini Sherri is wearing a Seattle Kraken jersey! Clients we going to an NHL game in Vancouver … the things we do for clients, like wear a non-Habs jersey!!! 😜

So, instead, I saved this little 2025 look-back for January — for those of you who didn’t travel last year and are currently doing the things you swore you’d only do “when hell freezes over.”

If it helps, I’m right there with you. Still eating the things I was told to stop eating, still shovelling snow, and still cursing out the plow driver who definitely waits until I am admiring my freshly cleared driveway before undoing all my hard work. 😳😭

Today’s article is about the adventures my clients (and Mini Sherri) had last year. So, grab a big cup of coffee — splash in a little Bailey’s if you’ve earned it — and let’s talk travel.

Trading shovels for sand

As every year begins, many of my clients kicked things off by trading shovelling snow for shovelling sand. And once again, Punta Cana was the runaway favourite. White sand instead of white snow, fruity drinks instead of frozen fingers — I have scientific proof this is the correct life choice.

The Majestic Resorts continue to hold a special place in my heart. They go above and beyond for my clients, especially those celebrating birthdays, anniversaries, or travelling as a group. When I have clients heading down together, I reach out to my amazing contact at Majestic HQ, and she works her magic with the resort teams to keep everyone close and help create those extra-special moments.

Mini Sherri is well known with the Majestic crew. Whenever clients send photos of her enjoying resort life, I pass them along — including the one where she was spotted in the dining room wearing her bathing suit. Apparently that’s a no-no, but Mini Sherri was granted a special exemption. 😜

Love, sunshine & honeymoon adventures

Last year also brought several new clients who trusted me to plan their very first getaway, including some beautiful honeymoons. These newlyweds kicked off married life in Mexico, and helping them find the right resort (plus a few thoughtful surprises) honestly makes my heart grow every time.

I also arranged excursions so they could come home with stories — because while beach potato time is important, nobody wants to be a potato the entire trip. 🥔😜

Spring shake-ups & staying closer to home

Spring normally means Las Vegas conferences for many of my clients, but 2025 had other plans. With business travel shifting, I got to help several clients explore destinations closer to home instead — proving you don’t need a passport to have a great adventure.

Europe, Mini Sherri Style

Spring also marks the start of my favourite season: European travel. And last year did not disappoint.

Clients explored Vienna, Budapest, Prague, Lisbon, Split, Dubrovnik, and Madrid — each destination packed with history, food, culture, and unforgettable moments. From wandering old towns to soaking in views you just can’t recreate at home, these trips were all about slowing down and truly experiencing Europe.

Madrid brought one especially memorable adventure when the power went out — with Mini Sherri right in the middle of the action. Thanks to Rocky and his handy flashlight, we officially added “pack a small flashlight” to our client checklist. (Bonus: flashlights don’t need charging. Winner winner chicken dinner.)

Peru: Business meets Bucket List

Another highlight of the year was Peru. Several corporate clients like to add a little adventure onto their work trips — and that’s where I come in. I help balance the business with the fun, arranging excursions around conferences and events.

Dressed for the occasion, Mini Sherri joined one client at Machu Picchu — proving once again that work trips don’t have to be all work.

A first for Mini Sherri

2025 also marked a first: Mini Sherri attended the Canadian Curling Olympic Trials in Halifax! It rocked.

(Yes … curling rock. I said what I said. It’s been a long winter people!) 🥌

Ending the year on a sandy note

The year wrapped up with new clients escaping for Christmas and ringing in the New Year with sand between their toes — which is exactly how winter holidays should be done.

It truly was an incredible year. I’m beyond grateful for the clients who trust me to design trips that help them relax, reconnect, explore, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Thank you for letting me help you explore the world — and if 2026 is your year to finally say yes to travel, you know where to find me.
